Our Vision: Resurrection Lutheran Church is a Christ-centered family of believers, so deeply and confidently rooted in the Gospel of God's grace, that we are free to give our lives joyfully in witness and service to those whom God has brought into our lives: within our congregation, our community, and our world.
Resurrection Lutheran Church Youth Ministry seeks
to engage all youth to encourage the growth of Christian character
through fellowship, education, and service.
Youth Groups and Fellowship: For middle school and high school youth, there are regularly scheduled meeting and devotion times each month for the purpose of teaching and sharing Christ-centered principles of life and applying them to our daily lives. There are also regularly scheduled fellowship opportunities for the purpose of developing youth into a unit within the Body of Christ. We foster and encourage interaction with our friends, family, and community to promote growth into persons God will use in His plan for our lives. Confirmation and Bible Study: Confirmation is the program of Christian Education designed for middle school youth grades 6-8 led by confirmation teachers from within the church congregation. For high school youth grades 9-12, there is Bible Study led by Youth Ministry leaders of the church.
Music: Christian musical offerings are developed in cooperation with the RLC Director of Music. Our youth are encouraged to share their musical abilities and interest for the primary purpose of enabling them to grow in experience toward the service of the Lord and His church.
Synodical Events and Outreach: RLC Youth participate in special events and retreats throughout the calendar year designed and organized by the Virginia Synod of the ELCA. We also provide youth with local activities and service opportunities that focus on service and mission projects within our community and beyond to encourage deeper understanding of God's direction for their lives.
Youth Ministry Permission Forms: All youth must have on file with the ministry director signed copies of both the Travel Permission and Emergency Medical Treatment form and the Prescription Medication form for their children. Each form must be signed by the parent or guardian and it is their responsibility to keep the staff and volunteers for the RLC Youth Ministry updated as to any medical or family changes.
If you have any questions about our program, see Donna Roberts or one of the Youth Ministry leaders.
